Inner City Regeneration

El Layla Hotel (formerly Municipal Annexe)

Iliad are working closely with the forward–thinking City Council on this unique scheme, which will see the original Municipal Annexe in central Liverpool transformed into one of the first boutique hotels and brasseries in the city, with a quality matching that of the current sector leaders in the West End.

The architects, Falconer Chester, have retained this landmark Victorian building's traditional features, in accordance with its Grade II Listed status, fusing it with contemporary design concepts, with the intention of developing upon the best aspects of established European hotels. Exceptionally strong design elements will be incorporated within a heavily style-led trading theme, in order to distinguish the hotel from any other regional product, with the ultimate aim of establishing a national reputation. Unusually, Iliad propose to run and manage this hotel themselves, thereby ensuring control of the quality of design, the materials used and the standards of service.
