Urban Village

East Village

Iliad were the first developer to champion the concept of the Urban Village. East Village, to the south of the City Centre in the bohemian and lively quarter of Liverpool known as the RopeWalks, is perhaps one of the best examples of the genre in the UK. Iliad created a market in an area that formerly faced dereliction by initiating the formation of partnerships with Miller Homes, David McLean, the Liverpool Community College and Liverpool City Council, to bring to life their idea of living and working in the same area.

  • East Village is now a centre for cosmopolitan living and socialising.
  • East Village epitomises the community–style habitat previously alien to the once neglected streets of Liverpool.
  • East Village has provided the RopeWalks with an exciting new restaurant quarter, sheltered communal leisure space and 250 apartments.
  • Public piazzas.
  • New Community College.
