ELYSIAN FIELDS SHORTLISTED FOR BEST DESIGN AT HOUSEBUILDER AWARDS 2010

Category:  Best Design

Shortlisted – Elysian Fields, Liverpool
Winner to be announced on 28th Oct. 2010

The scheme contains 105 apartments built over 7 floors, including 6 duplexes and 2 luxury penthouses.  The whole development is underpinned by three levels of basement car parking with a generous reception, exemplar communal areas providing additional resident benefits. The building as a whole is a landmark in the area, and a contrast to the low 2-3 storey former workshops and factories dotting the area.   The new structure uses a concrete frame clad in granite and zinc with substantial areas of curtain walling framing generous balconies to all apartments above ground floor level.  A mix of apartments and tenures contributes to the long term sustainability of the project. This architectural juxtaposition lends Elysian greater impact than if it had been sited in the midst of similar glass/steel constructions.  The scheme continues to fulfil a role as a catalyst for further regeneration in Liverpool city centre.
